A vacuum glass suction cup with a screw connection needs a fastening arrangement that places the rubber at the correct distance from its supporting bracket. Thread engagement, bracket thickness and any intervening hardware determine that position. The cup face must remain free to meet the glass after the connection is assembled.
Check where the screw stops. Bottoming in a blind receiving feature can leave the bracket apparently tight while its intended seating surface remains clear. Conversely, a projection beyond the bracket can interfere with nearby components. Define these spaces with the actual hardware in place.
Leave access for the fastening tool without using the rubber rim to react the tightening force. Once secured, the cup should have no residual twist that tilts its contact face. Check its approach to the glass as a completed bracket assembly.
Surface condition and the applied load still require assessment in the intended installation. Inspect both the threaded connection and the rubber transition during maintenance. A loose fastener and a damaged lip are separate faults; additional tightening will not restore contact through a cut edge or unsuitable glass surface.
