A wire harness rubber sleeve protects the point where several wires travel together through an opening. A bundle can change shape as it is handled, so its widest assembled section and its likely movement deserve more attention than a single nominal diameter.
This silicone-oriented design is customizable in structure, dimensions, hardness, color and material. Plan the sleeve around the harness as it will actually arrive at assembly, including wrapping and any branches near the entry. Keep a branch junction outside the protected bore if it would prevent the sleeve from seating naturally.
Feed the bundle through without allowing individual wires to escape over the rim. Once the harness is positioned, look for a flattened side or concentrated pressure where the wires stack together. Rearranging the bundle gently may improve the passage, but the mounting flange must not be pulled free to gain extra space.
Leave the adjacent cable tie or clamp far enough away that it does not collapse the sleeve. During maintenance, support the harness before releasing its fixings so its weight does not suddenly load the rubber entry. Inspect the bore after any major rerouting.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A bundle can change shape as it is handled, so its widest assembled section and its likely movement deserve more attention than a single nominal diameter. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
