Which device details are needed for a custom silicone cover?
Include the outside dimensions, corner radii, buttons, connectors and any features that must stay exposed. Show the intended fitting direction and removal access. A cover can follow the overall shape but still interfere with a recessed port or a nearby mounting bracket.
How can a cover stay in place without blocking controls?
Use suitable retaining edges and supported wall areas around the housing. Leave the operating space required by buttons, switches and plugs. Review the fitted cover while using those controls, because local stretching or compression can change their clearance.
Should every wall have the same thickness?
Wall thickness should follow the structure and fitting needs. Corners, retaining lips and frequently flexed areas may require different geometry. Avoid adding thickness without checking access, flexibility and the space around the covered component.
Does a silicone case make a device waterproof?
A fitted case alone does not establish waterproof protection. Water can enter through controls, connectors, seams or the cover opening. Any sealing requirement must be developed and evaluated for the complete enclosure under its specified conditions.
